Kahawa 1893

Founded by Margaret Nyamumbo, Kahawa 1893 is rooted in her Kenyan upbringing and a family legacy of coffee farming. Growing up in a community of coffee farmers, Margaret witnessed firsthand how women provided much of the labor on coffee farms while owning little of the land. After studying abroad in the USA and beginning her career on Wall Street, she returned to her roots with a mission to bring East African coffee to the world in a way that creates greater opportunity for women farmers.
